The meteoric rise of Zoom from obscurity to monopolising video conferencing during Covid has waned to a 28-56% market share across the world, with two strong rivals, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet.
Now it’s a “household name” but having to fight for popularity. No Notes Productions, the company founded by Colin Jost in 2023, has produced its second edition of global brand campaign, Zoom Ahead, this time starring American comedian and actress, Kate McKinnon, as an OTT evil CEO, who orders her staff to find a way to destroy Zoom once and for all. Of course, every idea simply demonstrates how Zoom helps to get things done, even its own destruction.
Zoom Got It Done builds on Zoom’s broader attempt to reposition itself as an AI-powered workplace platform rather than the video-calling service it has become known for.
The campaign launched during Week 1 of the NFL regular season on Monday Night Football, and will continue across linear and connected TV, out-of-home, digital, and social placements. The ongoing wider Zoom Ahead marketing campaign features creator partnerships, new branded content assets, and Zoom’s MLB sponsorship.
The new workfollows the first No Notes work last year, in which Bowen Yang played a dictatorial IT manager, fighting an office workplace rebellion to use Zoom.
