What boy would not want to go to the NRL Grand Final in an Xbox Forza Horizon 2 sports car via Uber?
There have been a lot of XBox launches, so making a big splash for the launch of Forza Horizon 2 had ultimate challenge in its DNA.
So Ogilvy PR designed the ultimate package to conquer that.
In Forza Horizon 2, players get to race through a massive virtual world in more than 200 of the world’s greatest sports cars.
Ogilvy PR arranged for rugby league fans to go to the NRL Grand Final at the ANZ stadium in a Forza Horizon 2 car – a real one, via Uber.
Cars that could be booked through Uber included a Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari 458 Italia and Nissan GT-R. They were decked out in Forza Horizon 2 branding and sent into the streets of Sydney, to take Rabbitohs and Bulldogs fans to the rugybgames of the year for free.
Alhough the supercars would cost over $900,000 to buy off the showroom floor, smartphone users could simply download or log into the Uber app and enter the promo code, UBERFORZA, to unlock the custom vehicles and request a free ride on-demand.
The supercars were also available to the wider public from Friday October 3 until Sunday October 5 to take passengers wherever they need to go within Sydney’s CBD, Eastern Suburbs and Inner West at no charge.
