The horror film surge in popularity this year is strange given the real-life horror in the world right now. It is real, however, and Halloween is its time to shine even more brightly.
Pablo London’s first work for PETA is a classic horror film shrunk down in time to 1.17 minutes, but not shrunk in fright appeal. It stars Hamface, a horror villain terrorising a family, and its shock value aims to jolt people into assimilating the cancer risks in everyday processed meats. The power of the film is embedded in all the sinister horror film tropes – sound effects, music, slow-building dread, scream ECUs…
The film was directed by duo, RIOT (Amy Fasey and Nathalie Gordon) and produced by ArtClass. It is supported by OOH runnnig across the UK.
Bacon, ham and other processed meats contain Group 1 carcinogens and are linked to 34,000 cancer deaths globally every year. Hamface represents the horror villain people welcome into their homes and never suspect its evil until it’s too late.
