Earlier this year, Optus added The Works to its roster of agencies and existing clients like Beam Suntory expanded their work with the agency.
So The Works has added a new creative partner. Phil Watson joins from 303MullenLowe where he has been creative director of digital, direct and brand activation since January 2013.
For the three and a half years prior to 303, Watson was creative director at Momentum Worldwide.
Clearly, he made a difference there: “In the 3.5 years Phil was with us he made a huge difference to the business. He’s one of the few Creative Directors around who can genuinely work across multiple channels from experiential to digital to shopper marketing and beyond – an ability that was invaluable in helping us develop our integrated capabilities. Not only is he a top notch creative, he’s also commercially astute. And a true gentleman with it.” [Gus Guthrie
Co-founder and managing director at Momentum Worldwide Australia]
Watson has also worked at Publicis Mojo, iLeo and Lavender, and on award winning campaigns for Heineken, Boags, Tooheys and Amex.
Damian Pincus, creative partner and founder of The Works commented, “The past 12 months have been the best in the agency’s history. The time is right time to bring in another senior creative thinker who epitomises our Creatives on the Forefront model in engaging directly with clients to address their business issues.
Optus stops saying “yes”, starts saying “we stop at nothing”
“Phil’s extensive experience in integrated, digital and brand activation make him the perfect addition to our leadership team and he’ll help continue the momentum we are currently enjoying. We’re delighted he’s bringing his expertise to the agency and our clients at this important time.”
Watson added, “The Works is one of the best agencies in Australia right now. I’m proud to be on board and looking forward to helping deliver more of the innovative and effective work they are renowned for.”
