600K Network by Rainbow Lobster, winner of both the Grand Prix for Good and the Dan Wieden Titanium Lion at Cannes Lions this year, exemplifies the creative collective’s belief that creativity can do more than communicate. It can mobilise, connect and create impact where it matters most. The project was developed together with Venezuelan creatives and professionals to honour the more than 600,000 Venezuelans who risked everything to preserve evidence and defend the democratic process during the elections of July 28.
“Yet perhaps the most important credit in the entire Cannes entry appeared before any agency, production company or individual name – The Venezuelan people,” Rainbow Lobster noted. “Several Venezuelans involved in the development of the case also chose to remain anonymous and therefore do not appear in the credits. The reason is the same one that made this project necessary in the first place – the regime that persecuted citizens for scanning a QR code on July 28 remains in power and continues to hold political prisoners in its jails.”
Rainbow Lobster shared a conviction with the group of Venezuelan creatives and professionals who developed the 600K Network story, that what the Venezuelan people achieved deserved to be documented, preserved and presented at the highest level of global communications.
“For Rainbow Lobster, bringing this story to Cannes was never simply about awards. It was about giving international visibility to an extraordinary act of civic courage and ensuring that one of the most important stories of recent Venezuelan history reached one of the world’s biggest stages for creativity and communication,” the agency stated.

The significance of the wins extended beyond the awards themselves. Joining virtually during the jury presentation in Cannes was María Corina Machado, recognised with the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for her work defending democratic rights and a peaceful transition in Venezuela. Machado’s participation transformed the presentation from an industry celebration into a reminder that behind every data point, every QR code and every case study were real people fighting for truth, freedom and democracy.
In his acceptance speech, Sebastián Arrechedera, founder & CCO of Rainbow Lobster, commented, “Venezuela gave us a responsibility to carry onto this stage. 600,000 people risked everything to tell the truth, and we are honoured to have represented that courage here. The country we love is facing a humanitarian emergency after a devastating earthquake. If you take one thing from this stage, let it be this – Venezuela needs you now. Please scan the QR code. Donate. The people who protected democracy with their phones are now asking us to support them.”
The role of the case was never to make the story bigger than it was. The story was already extraordinary. It was simply to ensure that what the Venezuelan people had achieved could be understood, remembered and shared with the world from one of the largest stages in global creativity.
600K Network’s help for the people in Venezuela continues. Through Healing Venezuela, the QR code shared during the acceptance speech redirects global attention toward humanitarian relief efforts supporting communities affected by the devastating earthquake that struck the country.
