Everyone knows someone who bangs on about what people are doing to the planet but does little him- or herself. French retailer, Greenweez, exists to help them by making organic and environmentally responsible products accessible to everyone in Europe at fair prices for both customers and suppliers.
It’s an evangelistic approach but agency, Rosapark, has delivered its message with entertaining humour. In the 60-second spot, French comedian and committed environmentalist, Nicolas Méryeux, walks through a forest yelling at animals about their environmentally unfriendly behaviour – a squirrel littering acorn shells, a beaver gnawing at a tree trunk, a bear fishing, an otter bathing (rather than showering)… The commercial then offers Greenweez as the alternative “for those who want to do more than talk”.
Director, Tony Vernagallo, was chosen for his quirky sense of humour to shoot the film. Vernagallo is known for his Canal+ and YouTube series, Tony the Animots, in which an animated Tony introduced a new absurd “animot” (a bizarre mutation of a real animal).
“Weeks of research were necessary for the documentary filmmakers to find scenes and reactions perfectly adapted to the comedy. We pushed the location scouting to the extreme so that the montage, composed of archival and filmed images, would be as credible as possible and give the impression that all the scenes were shot in the same place,” stated Gilles Fichteberg, co-founder & executive creative director, Rosapark.

The campaign is running on TV and in digital.
