The Shift 20 Initiative and Bus Stop Films have formed a partnership that brings together the two organisations’ respective expertise in casting and crewing deaf, disabled and neurodivergent talent and crew. The aim is to make it easier for brands, agencies and production companies to engage people with disability both in front of and behind the camera. The Full Frame allows brands to reach out for a singular proposal on hiring people with disability as both cast and crew on productions. It is a joint offering from Shift 20 and Bus Stop Films, and sits separately to both organisations’ existing services, while advancing Shift 20’s mission to increase disability representation in marketing communications, and Bus Stop Films’ goal to support disabled crew, while simplifying casting and hiring for brands.
The Full Frame will allow brands, agencies and production companies to request a joint response from Shift 20 and Bus Stop Films for projects, with the organisations working together to identify suitable cast and crew based on each brief, budget and production requirements. It draws on talent identified through Shift 20 Casting Call and Bus Stop Films’ national Bus Stop Employment crewing roster, while providing one point of contact throughout the process. Brands will receive one proposal covering both casting and crewing, access to support from both organisations throughout production, and assistance for talent and crew ahead of arriving on set.

The partnership responds to the stumbling block that while the advertising and production industries continue to make progress on disability representation, barriers remain when it comes to translating good intentions into meaningful employment opportunities on set.

Head of Shift 20, Priya Addams Williams, stated, “We are so proud to be collaborating on The Full Frame to increase the inclusion of people with disability in campaigns both in front of and behind the camera. As two non-profit organisations, we are committed to creating positive change for the community with disability, and look forward to deepening ties in the advertising industry to continue doing so.”
Together, the teams behind Shift 20 and Bus Stop Films have more than 25 years of experience working across disability representation, employment and the screen and advertising sectors.
Bus Stop Films chief executive officer, Tracey Corbin-Matchett OAM, stated, “There’s power in a partnership built on a shared commitment to changing the story on how the world not only sees disabled people, but makes space for us in production teams as well. We’re generating jobs and shifting perceptions, and I am excited for what we will achieve together.”
The formal partnership builds on an existing relationship between the organisations. Bus Stop Films provided crewing support for the Shift 20 Initiative’s launch campaign in 2023, while Shift 20 has participated in both editions of Bus Stop Films’ Driving Change Summit in 2024 and 2025, including joining the summit’s Advisory Committee last year. The organisations have also worked together to support brands including Destination NSW, Uber and Amazon in employing deaf, disabled and neurodivergent talent across cast and crew.
