Love abounds on Valentine’s day. And lovers everywhere take the opportunity to proclaim their love.
Even Colonel Sanders. In a 30-second commercial in France, the KFC spokesman is declaring his steadfast affection for his one and only true love – chicken.
Earlier this month, Colonel Sanders announced that there would be an addition to the chain’s menu – a Beef Bucket.
Chicken lovers took to the web to vent their feelings about that. They weren’t positive:
“It would be blasphemous to betray my tenders”
“Kentucky fried chicken, where is beef written?”
“They’ve gone mad! 😱”, “The world is falling apart ..Beef 🥩at KFC 🍗”…
“Shocked and disappointed”
“😭😭😭😭”
Some even rallied together to form the Chicken Shield Defenders and two petitions were begun (here and here) to block the menu’s expansion.
Happily for chicken lovers, the Beef Bucket was a stunt by Sid Lee Paris – a little ruse to illustrate just how deep the Colonel’s love runs, and that no one should ever second guess his faithfulness to chicken.
Which is why, on Valentine’s Day, Colonel Sanders has released a 30-second commercial in France, declaring his steadfast affection for his one and only true love – chicken.
