Social distancing measures are seen as punishing by most people. Skyn and Sid Lee have pitched in to help by presenting imposed confinement as an opportunity to create pleasure. Pleasure even greater than binge-watching series. Pleasure that encourages people to stay home, listen to and respect the measures being put in place.
Pleasure is a powerful incentive and as recent swarms of young people on beaches in Florida and Sydney suggest, incentive is needed to get young people, in particular, to take the new rules seriously.
The partners’ campaign, Stay and F*** at Home (which clearly targets this younger audience that seems to feel it’s invincible), offers new ways to look at social distancing and the advantages of WFH. To share their message, Skyn is reaching out where everyone is living, online.
It uses the trending hashtags, #staythefhome and #staythefuckhome, to deliver content in the form of animated GIFS and messages such as Coming is always safer than going. Ongoing content, like the “pleasure calendar” will be posted daily over the next few weeks to help people keep busy.
The initiative advocates for ways to make the best of the situation and reminds everyone that they can turn restrictive measures into something that brings people together.
