ANZ’s visual metaphor for fraud protection, the ANZ Falcon, has returned to Australian screens with an entourage of DoppelFalcons keeping all ANZ customers safe.
The new campaign informs customers about ANZ’s advanced fraud protection technology, that uses AI to keep learning the difference between customer and a fake, providing personalised fraud protection 24/7.
Since the ANZ Falcon campaign was first launched to the Australian market in 2006, fraud has evolved. So has the Falcon. This is the focus of the new campaign, DoppelFalcons.
“The campaign demonstrates to our customers that ANZ has fraud protection that’s personal to them. Rather than just one falcon, it’s almost as if everyone has their very own falcon, protecting them 24/7, whenever or however they pay, learning from thousands of data points on their transactions,” explained Sian Chadwick, general manager marketing, Australia, ANZ.
“With fraud and scams on the rise, who wouldn’t want one of the world’s foremost avian predators on their side?”, added Ryan Fitzgerald, ECD Special. “ANZ customers can feel a little bit safer with the DoppelFalcons in the world.”
The campaign is led by a 60-second TVC, directed by Steve Rogers via Revolver.
David Bielenberg, PHD Melbourne’s head of strategy and planning, stated, “The falcon has given us licence to play across a combination of trusted media environments and contextually relevant moments to highlight ANZ’s security features to a new generation.”

As a founding partner of Shift 20 Initiative, ANZ continues to prioritise and pursue best practice for representation, inclusion and accessibility of people living with disability in advertising through this campaign.
The campaign launched 14 April and will include extensions for ANZ Plus and Everyday Banking. It will run across TV, online video, audio, out of home advertising, print, social, search and owned channels. These includes a 12-metre 3D falcon perched on Bourke Street, Melbourne, and personalised dynamic online video.
