Last year, Matthew Conaughey added to the US’ long list of current conspiracy theories. Football and the NFL were created just to sell food to fans he argued. The campaign by Special US and Uber Eats (the official delivery partner of the NFL) captured America’s attention, the partners built on the outrageous’ theory’s success by taking it to the 2025 Super Bowl’s massive audience, with an epic history linking football and food and the essential celebrity inclusions, Kevin Bacon, Martha Stewart, and Charli XCX.
But this year, there’s a hitch. Actor and impassioned football fan, Bradley Cooper, is determined to debunk the theory, because he thinks the conspiracy overshadowed the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory.
The launch commercial went to during Sunday Night Football in the US on September 14, with a series of spots running throughout the NFL season. Cooper’s passion, the idea’s humour and an A-list line-up of NFL stars, Baker Mayfield, Troy Aikman, and Jerry Rice, make for another must watch campaign, boosting the idea that Uber Eats is the go-to for food delivery (with help from Uber Eats’ game day deals that will live on a dedicated hub in its app).
