The best conspiracy theory of the year, possibly, comes from Special US. It’s the answer to why watching football makes you hungry. “The whole game is an elaborate scheme to make you buy more food,” states Matthew McConaughey, in the agency’s commercial for Uber Eats.
“…because as we all know, football was really invented for food. From Jerry Rice and Sauce Gardner to turnovers and pancake blocks, it’s right in front of us,” Uber adds in its blog.
The conversation between McConaughey and a very hungry San Francisco 49ers’ running back Christian McCaffrey kicks off a series of ads throughout the 2024-2025 NFL season in the US, that will shed light on the little conspiracy theory, supported by a Game Day Hub in the Uber Eats app that makes it easy to order. (Uber Eats is the official food delivery partner of the NFL.)
