Fundraising advertising can get very creative, but none yet have reached the (literal) heights of Special Wellington’s huge OOH billboard for Wellington City Mission’s new community facility, Whakamaru.
The billboard, a symbolic – and living – document titled Wellington’s Greatest Deed, is seven metres high.
To help it make its mark on New Zealand’s conscience, it was unveiled by former Director-General of Health, Sir Ashley Bloomfield abseiling down the side of a Wellington high-rise to sign the names of the first donors.

The Greatest Deed invites everyday Kiwis to donate to Whakamaru by cementing their names forever on the larger-than-life ownership deed. Anyone can sign by donating. The deed will be updated weekly as more people add their names and support, before it takes pride of place within the building on which it is currently posted. (Places on the deed are limited by physical space.)

Whakamaru is a 24/7 facility offering essential support for those in need.
