The Bayeux Tapestry arrived at the British Museum on September 10 on loan from Normandy, and tickets sold out almost immediately. Specsavers wasn’t the only brand to seize the moment, but its wit can’t be matched.
The 960-year-old tapestry is most often associated with the section of King Harold being struck in the eye during the Battle of Hastings.
Specsavers reproduced that scene and added, Something in your eye? Should’ve goneth to Specsavers. The quick-witted OOH campaign covers London Underground stations, escalators and city streets in London around the museum exhibition opening. It was created in-house with media planned and booked through Talon and Omnicom Media.
