Thanks to Saatchi & Saatchi New York, Cheerios owns emotive family moments in the US. And that’s a great positioning for a cereal that’s formed into shapes in a world full of muesli, superfood & porridge options.
Who would have thought that ads about everyday families could be called brave, provocative or controversial? And yet Saatchi & Saatchi New York has created Twitter storms with two of its ads that really just aimed to make people connect Cheerios with family love.
The newest Cheerios ad is safer. Of course, the haters will observe that it is a scenario built around a brief to promote the entire Cheerios range. And yes, the puppet strings do show.
But surely your emotional brain’s applause drowned out the other voices in your head?
