In horror movies, monsters write messages with their fingers. These are messages no one ever wants to find on a wall, mirror or window. This Halloween, however, KFC Panama gives viewers a reason to look for them.
Panama agency, Star5’s Creepy Finger Codes turns the finger-written messages seen in horror movies into special KFC deals in Panama for the Halloween season. A familiar, enduring trope that warns audiences something terrible is about to happen becomes an invitation to enjoy something delicious.
The idea stems from a a uniquely KFC asset – if there is one brand that can find something appetising about fingers, it is KFC. Its iconic Finger-licking good slogan provides a natural entry into the world of horror, allowing the brand to give these messages a meaning no other brand could replicate.
The Star5 campaign turns KFC’s promise into a link between entertainment, a promotion and brand identity. There are plenty of terrifying messages written with fingers. But only one brand could make them finger-licking good.
