Surely e.l.f wins the award for the cheesiest Super Bowl spot this year? The 60-second spot, Judge Beauty, is a Judge Judy parody featuring Suits stars, Rick Hoffman, Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty – as well as Meghan Trainor, RuPaul’s Drag Race drag queen, Heidi N Closet, comedian Benito Skinner, and the tagline, In e.l.f. we trust.
The commercial, was created, cast and scripted by by SHADOW, e.l.f. Beauty’s long-term creative marketing and communications agency, and was produced by New York production company Imposter, with director Zach Woods [HBO’s Silicon Valley and NBC’s The Office].
The campaign will live after the Super Bowl, with an extended version of the film across streaming and digital channels, as well as a steady stream of social content and a limited-edition line of merchandise available at elfcosmetics.com.
This is e.l.f.’s second commercial at the big game, following the brand’s eyes.lips.face.sticky spot starring Jennifer Coolidge last year.
