TBWA\Chiat\Day has appointed Dustin Tomes as chief creative officer in New York. Amy Ferguson left the job five months ago, after six years at the agency, to join Special Dustin Tomes.
It’s a return to TBWA\Chiat\Day for Tomes who was an associate creative director there for two years until 2015. Tomes has been executive creative director at LeTruc for one year and nine months. Previously, he was executive creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi and before that, group creative director at Droga5. Tomes began his career at a small agency in Lincoln, but from there it was been big agency all the way, first at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, then Leo Burnett.
Dustin’s work has won awards at One Show, D&AD, Cannes Lions, Webby Awards, Clios, The New York Times, Fast Company, Vice and George R.R. Martin.
His work on Facebook was awarded a Yellow Pencil by D&AD. His work on the Game of Thrones Super Bowl ad was named Adweek’s Best Ad of the Year and deemed “The biggest and boldest marketing tie-in ever orchestrated” by the Wall Street Journal. His documentary, Monowi, for Prudential was an official selection at Doc NYC, the country’s largest documentary film festival, and was a finalist for One Screen.
