On October 5, LG Electronics (LG) will launch the world’s first music festival dedicated to one song, where covers of iconic party anthem, Boom Boom Pow, will be blasted through LG’s XBOOM party speakers by street performers across the world.
A rather unconventional approach for a legacy electronics brand, no question. But in the name of LG’s mission of putting more optimism in the world, it all makes sense.
Boom Boom Pow Festa will feature nine street performers from nine different countries playing nine unique covers of the Black Eyed Peas hit, the ultimate party anthem for the ultimate party speaker, and a song that happens to mention the word, BOOM, a lot. (The event underlines the audio quality and pure power of LG XBOOM.) It will be broadcast live on October 5 on LG’s Global YouTube channel @LGGlobal.

The live-streamed event will be directed by musical visionary, Emil Nava, of 1stAveMachine, known for having worked in the music video and commercial spaces for over a decade. Nava has collaborated and established unparalleled trust with top international musical acts such as Rihanna, Calvin Harris, Pharrell, Eminem, and Ed Sheeran.

“Music unifies, enriches, and resonates with people no matter where they are from. Dedicating an entire music festival to Boom Boom Pow, which is not just a song, but more about breaking boundaries, limits and living in the moment. LG XBOOM amplifies the pulse of music and the thrill of the party to make people feel the power of the music in their lives. And LG’s commitment to spreading positivity based on its philosophy, Life’s Good is the driving force of why we are doing this festival,” stated Lee Jeong-seok, head of LG Home Entertainment Company’s audio business.
Emil Nava added, “Boom Boom Pow Festa is a festival for the real musicians of the world – the performers who sing in our streets and neighbourhoods in everyday life. Getting to highlight not only the musicians but also where they’re from and the communities they represent is something that I am most excited about.”
In addition to partnering with some of the world’s most exciting, culturally diverse street performers, Boom Boom Pow Festa will also feature rising musical artists including Brazil’s Delacruz and the Philippines’ The Juans, who will return to their roots to celebrate their respective communities. The event will kick off globally, with nine different countries each hosting a part of the festival:
