Apple’s flair for entertaining humour that makes product feature commercials palatable (OK, realty fun) continues. This time, the nearly 6-minute TBWA\Media Arts Lab production takes viewers through A Day in the Life of an Average Person’s Data. Except that the “average” person is Nick Mohammed, who play Nathan Shelley in Ted Lasso (Apple TV+’s biggest show) and he is going to work on set. Mohammed is accompanied on his day by Von, who explains to him the iPhone’s privacy features relevant to each situation in his day and is an actual specialist at Apple’s Tower Theatre store in Los Angeles.

Mohammed’s self-deprecating humour – he tries to buy a t-shirt that will make him look as though he has a six-pack and Googles how to make yourself look taller – is brought out deftly by the directing decisions of Jonathan Krisel.
The commercial is part of Apple’s marketing push behind its privacy features beginning Saturday, January 28 (aka Data Privacy Day) and partners with a new, free 30-minute session called Taking Charge of Your Privacy on iPhone, will be available at all Apple Store locations worldwide.
