Loneliness is common theme in holiday advertising. So are caring and generosity. TBWA\Neboko has bundled these three powerful players into a wonderful tearjerker for Dutch State Lottery (Staatsloterij). A man’s cuckoo represents loneliness. The caring and generosity that make holiday advertising matter are demonstrated by the man and a waitress.

The film’s soundtrack is by Dutch band, Haevn, and British singer, Birdy. The film launched on December 10 across all of The Netherland’s television channels and will run until the day of the draw. The full campaign includes social media, radio, online, out of home and in-store where lottery tickets are available for purchase.
Michael Kastelijns, business director of Staatsloterij, stated, “It is the coziest time of the year when we celebrate love and spend time together. Sharing love and happiness isn’t about money and that’s the feeling we want to convey in the Netherlands.”
