The 2020 Australian Effie Awards is open for entries today, with a closing date of April 16. This is the 12th year for the awards that applaud creative communications which achieved outstanding measurable results.
This year, there is a new category, Challenger Brand for brands and businesses (smaller, existing, new, or emerging) that are making inroads against big, established market leaders, taking on “sleeping giants” or moving into a new productive or service field beyond their current category and set of competitors, to tackle a dominant market player.
In addition, the Small Budget category has been split into Micro Budget (campaigns with budgets under $100,000) and Small Budget (campaigns with a total budget between $100,000 and $500,000).
Find full details of the category changes here.
In all, there are 26 categories to enter. An entrant may select only one category from List A but there is no limit to how many categories are selected from List B for each campaign, as detailed below.
Tony Hale, chief executive officer, The Communications Council, commented, “The Australian Effie Awards ceremony has become a major annual event for the marketing communications industry in Australia, providing both a showcase and a benchmark for excellence in the area that matters most to our clients – delivering results. The Australian Effies continues to evolve with the changing nature of marketing communications.”
