Everything entered in Product Design is displayed inside Olympia Exhibition Centre’s stately Victorian Era main hall on long rows of demurely white cloth draped tables…ostensibly so that the all judges can hold the entries in their hands.
A lot of judges held (founding creative from The Monkeys at the time) Micah Walker’s entry in their hands.
Someone nicked it.
This is the entry…
“The Fireman is a contemporary vibrator designed for first time users, or ‘vibrator virgins’. The brand idea behind Smile Makers was to create a range of playful, non-threatening sex toys to sit on pharmacy shelves instead of sex shops. Each vibrator in the range is based on an archetypal fantasy. This informed each product’s entire design. Made from high-grade silicon, The Fireman knows his way around a fiery situation and is skilled at cooling things down too. His distinctive, flame-shaped lines are here to rescue damsels in distress, so he’s non-threatening, non-invasive, but very effective.”
