One of the much told Christmas stories involves a lonely and/or grumpy older person. In The Monkeys’ Christmas story for Australian Post, he is both. The story follows the road most travelled for a while – until it arrives at the inventive idea of a young boy. That grabs your heart, gives it a mighty tug and underlines Australia Post’s message, Spread The Merry, in a lovely original Christmas-y way.
The film aims to highlight that no-one should feel left out at Christmas, that even a little gift can go a long way to brightening someone’s year and that being generous doesn’t have to be expensive; a small gesture can mean a lot. Of course, it also highlights the role of Australia Post and its shop in Christmas giving.
The campaign airs this week and will run across broadcast television and radio, across out-of-home advertising and on digital channels.

The Monkeys chief creative officer, Ant Keogh, stated, “The idea being to Spread the Merry, we wanted the ad itself to embody a generous spirit, with a little story of personal connection aided by Australia Post.”

Christmas is a time to connect with friends, family and community and the campaign demonstrates how Australia Post makes it easy to reach out to more people.”
