Host/Havas Sydney has won the competitive pitch for the United Nations’ Free & Equal (UNFE) global public information campaign for LGBTI equality against a number of US agencies.
The OHCHR (Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights) has engaged Host/Havas to reimagine the UNFE campaign’s website from visual and technical perspectives. The project scope includes reviewing the site’s architecture, and recommending and implementing a new digital CMS platform along with front-end design and visual identity. The UNFE website is the online representation of the United Nations global public information campaign for LGBTI equality globally.
Laura Aldington, chief executive officer of Host/Havas, commented, “We have a renowned and growing digital transformation capability, strong expertise in creating globally-recognised advocation campaigns, and a team who are passionate about LGBTI rights – this felt like the perfect opportunity for Host/Havas. We can’t wait to work closely with the United Nations to shine a light on LGBTI equality globally.”
Rikke Hennum, campaign manager, UN Free & Equal Campaign, stated “Before the RFP was shared, the team at the UNFE really loved the simplicity of the Palau Pledge website and supporting advocation campaign. Host/Havas understood the importance and complexities of the project and our goals as an organization and were able to translate this into a compelling, easy to understand website experience that will help support the advocation of LGBTI rights globally.”
The UNFE website educates the global collective on LGBTI rights, challenges, definitions and standards and communicate the UN’s position on LGBTI rights. It also provides a resource for allies of the LGBTI community, including activists, civil society and nation states with its collection of global campaigns and information for action and advocation.
