The Midas Awards World’s Best Financial Advertising have been announced. The 2014 Grand Midas Award went to McCannXBC USA’s Priceless Table for MasterCard.

The inaugural Midas Award for Innovation went to The Jupiter Drawing Room South Africa’s Make Think Did for Absa.

Australia won four Midas awards:

Lavender won a Silver in Copywriting and a Certificate in Credit Card, for How to Pick a PIN for American Express.

ShowPony Advertising won a Silver in Lending for Rapid Ageing for HomeStart Finance

MercerBell won a Silver in Employee Communications for Super Pups for BT Super for Life.

Grand Midas winner, Priceless Table by McCann XBC USA was a dinner and donations event for client MasterCard to promote Stand Up to Cancer. The promotion launched a 10-seat restaurant, 25 feet off the ground on a billboard in Times Square, as part of a strategic partnership with celebrity chef, Marcus Samuelsson. The 5 course dinners raised over $4 million USD for cancer research, revamped an already successful campaign and demonstrated that MasterCard member benefits can also benefit others.

McCann XBC USA also earned an additional Gold Ingot for Priceless Table and 2 Gold Ingots for Kids (also for client MasterCard). Kids enlisted children to call out their parents and give them compelling reasons to use their paid vacation days and to use the new MasterCard travel concierge app to make it easy.

The Jupiter Drawing Room’s Make Think Did for Absa/Barclays South Africa highlighted Absa’s position as a sponsor of the Design Indaba conference, where the world’s greatest creative minds gather to be inspired.
