It is a universal human truth that parents tell white lies to their children, and not just about the existence of Santa Claus. There are also the TV that needs to go to sleep, the the green fries that look a lot like vege strands and the toy stores that are closed on Saturdays.
The point, DDB Paris, states in its ad for Das WeltAuto, the VW’s used car program, is that the used car market is three times bigger than new sales, and the majority of those deals are made between individual car owners. Many of these people have kids, and are probably quite adept at telling white lies. It might be better, therefore, to see a professional salesperson.
It’s a nice idea that gets undewr your skin. Especially if you’re a parent who has just told, or is just about to tell, your kids another convenient untruth.
Trivia: Das WeltAuto translates to The World Car and is a play on VW’s Das Auto motto.
