You can’t work in advertising without feeling frustrated some of the time. And so there is nothing more rewarding than an Adland satire. Teamwork.com and Chicago B2B video marketing agency, Umault, have added to the industry’s growing collection of soul-satisfying parody films.
Teamwork.com calls itself “the only platform built for managing client projects, profitably,” so you can see its motive for a series about dire clients. Yes, this one comes with a sales pitch at the end.
The first video, Meet The Client, is a horror short in which The Client plays the classic villain (even down to the evil laugh), intent of making life relentlessly difficult for the agency. It was launched in April and has clocked up more than 3 million views on Teamwork.com’s YouTube channel alone.
This week a second video, The Client: Part Deux, was uploaded. It’s The Client’s origin story. Apparently, this quintessential villain even has the classic villain background. He was once good, but turned bad.
The series also continues on Teamwork.com’s campaign website, where you can soothe your workday frustrations by watching the films’ mockery of clients’ ridiculous demands, impossible deadlines and painful last-minute changes.
