Albert Pukies has been appointed executive creative director at Uncommon Creative Studio London, joining from Wieden+Kennedy London, where he was group creative director. Pukies will start officially at the studio in the new year.
Nils Leonard co-founder, Uncommon, commented, “Albert is insanely talented. His work consistently pushes the boundaries with exceptional craft landing with scale and fame. The studio has always been drawn to mad talent – and it’s amazing to have Albert join alongside the incredible crew we’re building at the studio. We can’t wait to welcome him in the new year.”
The appointment follows a landmark year for the London studio, which has grown by 40% or more globally every year since its inception. This year, the London studio has added a string of major client wins, including the industry’s most competitive pitch of the year for BT and Under Armour. Meanwhile long-standing client relationships with Instagram, Ocado and EA Sports FC have contributed to sustained organic growth.
Pukies adds to a formidable creative line-up, including Julie Matheny (ex-TBWA/Media Arts Lab, Mother and Droga5), Josh Tenser (ex-CALLING) and global creative partner, Sam Walker, whose cinematic work for Supercell, Avios, and BritBox is nothing short of creative prowess. Walker recently signed with Henry.TV to expand his director portfolio.
Before joining Uncommon, Pukies led the Nike account at Wieden + Kennedy London, delivering standout campaigns including Nike Football SCARY GOOD, Nike Lionesses Euros Win Reactive, Nike Rafael Nadal Retirement and Awaken Your Madness for the Euros. His work has also spanned Formula 1, Sainsbury’s, Amazon and Samsung.
Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Pukies began his career at Jung Von Matt, Joint, and AKQA before joining W+K in 2019. An art director at heart, he is renowned for bringing ideas to life through hands-on execution and design, delivering work that is simple, striking, and culturally relevant.
Pukies commented, “I’ve always admired Uncommon because nobody in the market is making work like this. Every project feels ambitious, every campaign hits culturally and the studio’s output consistently raises the bar. Joining Uncommon feels like the perfect place to push things to help the studio continue to drive the work to a new level that truly matters.”
