If you’ve ever been to Leo Burnett Sydney you will have been greeted by the most wonderful woman, Susie Henry. Susie is a one-off; she is unashamedly eccentric. “To be individual, I think, is terribly important,” she says. Susie is. She is unashamed of her “disgraceful past” and her love of boys. And she is deservedly proud of home, which is both a tribute to, and a perfect representation of, her personality.
Susie has the most inspiring attitude to life and she gives a little of her irrepressible positivity to everyone who enters the agency.
Leo Burnett Sydney’s front of house, Susie Henry, celebrated 35 years with the agency in February this year. Leo Burnett thinks that is pretty remarkable. Because it is. So, in recognition of her outstanding tenure, a few talented Burnetters (both past and present) created a short film, Don’t Be Ridiculous, to celebrate her wonderful story.
Susie joined Leo Burnett in 1985 and, over the years, became the personal assistant to the chief executive officer, the chairman and the chief financial officer before taking on the significant role of front of house, which she has been doing in style for the past eleven years.
Melinda Geertz, chief executive officer of Leo Burnett Australia, commented, “I’ve known Susie since the day I arrived in Australia, and she’s truly one-of-a-kind. Susie is passionate, insightful, loyal, kind and wildly creative – she’s synonymous with Leo Burnett.
“It’s an unusual time, and it felt right to share this joyful celebration of Susie’s career as she’s had such an immense impact on all who have come to know her over the years.”
Susie Henry is very much looking forward to returning to work to be with her Leos family as soon as possible. “I love work,” she says – and then she dissolves into laughter.
