WPP AUNZ has joined the Career Trackers Indigenous Internship Program as part of its commitment to a diverse workforce. WPP hopes that this will extend its commitment to create opportunities that inspire excellence.
Three people have been chosen as the program’s first WPP inteenrs: Abi-Leigh Dillon (WPP AUNZ), Amy Mccutcheon (Mediacom) and Jacinta Evans (Ogilvy). Each started this month in a different discipline & role.
WPP AUNZ’s chief HR & talent officer, Elissa Good-Omozusi, commented, “At WPP AUNZ we believe an inclusive and diverse workforce is more collaborative, creative, effective, and contributes to our overall success. We acknowledge that we need to be more active in providing opportunities for Indigenous Australians. The Career Trackers program has helped WPP AUNZ engage with students to experience what a career could be in media and advertising, while helping to build their network and support structures.”
WPP AUNZ intern, Abi-Leigh Dillon, noted, “Programs like Career Trackers allow students like me to share their personal stories and gain valuable industry experience and connections. I am based in the HR & Talent team at WPP AUNZ where I am building the skills for a career in Human Resource Management which I plan to pursue upon graduating. I am proud to stand up as an Aboriginal woman and feel honored that I have these fantastic opportunities to learn and to share my heritage with others.”
Good-Omozusi added that WPP AUNZ hopes to be involved with the program throughout the year, accepting a number of interns, and plans to expand the program to a greater number of agencies across the group.
