After weeks in lockdown, an Easter escape was a burning temptation. While governments throughout the world issued dire warnings, Castrol found a more appealing way to urge people to stay home.
A film of car enthusiasts playing joyfully with toy cars. The film, Hang up your Key, uses a series of user-generated video clips featuring Castrol employees and workshop owners, as well as professional race drivers, Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon, and Petter and Oliver Solberg. Every clip was shot safely in people’s homes.
The campaign was created and delivered in six days in a remote work effort by a WPP team led by Ogilvy (Strategy/Account), VMLY&R (Creative), Hogarth (Production), Mindshare and Neo (media).
