The website for dog advocates, 3MillionDogs looks like this today:
And the story behind it goes like this:
“We’ve launched this spot for “Fetch” a perfume for dogs, or in our case poofume. We thought it would be a fun thing to do for April Fools day. We’ve posted a promo spot on our 3MillionDogs.com website (2.5mm page views a month) and on our FB page. People will be offered a chance to buy the new “perfume” on our GoodDogDeals store. When they click on the item they’ll be told about the joke. For what it’s worth 5% of our profits go to a selected shelter as voted on by our readers.”
Fetch by Fetch is the perfume,“With the quiet but sensitive fragrance of poo with notes of fresh mowed grass and just a hint of floral it’s the perfect way for them to release their inner bitch.”
The ad is hilarious. Because the perfume ads it mimics are.
On the website, the blurb continues:
“Since a dog’s sense of smell is so sensitive they can pick up on the charming fragrance easily but the scent is completely undetectable to humans. The perfume comes in a beautiful 1.8 oz glass bottle and retails for $100. Many of our readers have already made requests for pre-orders and the company predicts demand will be as strong as Fetch is strong smelling.
“Matt Anderson, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Fetch By Fetch, said during consumer trials, test market dog owners felt their dogs went crazy for this.
“It’s as if my dog Fuchsia got a new lease on life. She was just more spirited and full of life.”
Does anyone else think this ad should enter all the awards?
