Cossette has just won the competitive pitch for the Walmart Canada account, which means that it got to show what it can do with a high-profile Christmas campaign first.
It’s one of those Christmas stories that turns your heart into a puddle. It’s also a very clever way to disguise a catalogue ad. The agency has gone all out on presenting Walmart as the solution for the great Chrissy dilemma – how to find the toys that the littlies will absolutely love.
Bring Holiday Magic Home is the story of a toy bear, who has been ignored by buyers through the day. When Walmart closes, he climbs down from his shelf and does what any child would do left alone in a department store. He plays with the other products (and eats an unreasonable amount of ice cream). It’s a Christmas story, so there’s a happy ending and a lovely Chrissy tagline, Holiday magic starts with believing.

The video launched online and will also run on TV.
Walmart’s holiday program also includes the return of its online toy hub, Toy Academy, and popular toy expert, Olivia – both of which help people find the perfect gift for children, according to age, budget and interests.
