Nestle is the latest brand to get behind women in sport – and yes, it has jumped onto an increasingly crowded bandwagon – but Ogilvy Brasil’s creative has both standout and appeal in its DNA.
The ad is for Nescau (Nesquik in Australia). It’s called Strong Girls, and the 90 second spot is a music video collage of scenes in which women in challenging situations remember how childhood sport gave them strength, self-confidence and courage.
There’s no question that much of the ad’s power is executional. The choice of both music and visual style is flawless. It’s also backed by an idea that hasn’t been seen before, however. And power is power. It’s a powerful ad.
As well as running the ad as a TVC, Nescau also worked with Facebook on targeted distribution for shorter edits aimed at parents with interests in different sports.
