A tarp is lifted ceremoniously to reveal an exquisite holiday setting in an unoccupied studio. Cats watch through little glass cat flaps as the Christmas decorations come to life – electric trains, reindeer lights, Christmas tree lights…and there’s a Christmas feast – turkey with all the trimmings and various pies.
The carol, Deck the Halls, infuses its Christmas joy into the setting.
The cats mew in anticipation. They want to get in.
Suddenly the cat flaps open. And the scene changes. It’s chaos. It’s unmitigated destruction…gifts are torn open, wrapping paper is shredded, lights are broken, food is destroyed…
…until the sound of Temptations Treats being shaken in their bags is heard outside the room. The cats scamper out of the studio.
Titles appear: Keep them busy this holiday season. Treat them too.
Pay attention to the sound effects that amplify the drama. This ad has to be a hot Christmas viral, doesn’t it?

The ad is the Christmas version of adam&eve’s Treat Them Too campaign, which launched in August.
adam&eve/DDB: It’s not cheating if your funny cat video is for a cat product
The ad was directed by Sam Brown of Rogue Films and it wasn’t an easy production. The set took five days to build. Twenty-two cats and kittens were trained for three weeks before they were filmed for three days tearing the set apart.
