You have to love a creative who announces his departure from his agency with something more creative than the bog standard press release.
Steve Back let adland know today that he was leaving his position as creative partner at Joy, with this post on LinkedIn.
Back has spent two years at Joy. He joined in February 2015 from Ogilvy. He had been chief creative officer of Ogilvy Singapore from 2010 before he was transferred to Australia in 2013 to become chief creative officer nationally – a new role.
He was also executive creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney from November 2007, replacing David Nobay when he left to start up Droga5.
He was a contributing force driving one of Leo Burnett Sydney’s creative surges and the same at Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand and DDB Sydney.
He has won all of the awards that matter. And, under his creative leadership, Joy won its first Yellow Pencil in 2016.
