BBH Singapore and Nike have created another digital wonder, following their Unlimited Stadium last year, the you vs you footprint-shaped running court that gives you an avatar rival (of you at your recent best) to run against.
This year, BBH Singapore and Nike have added Google to their team to create Nike Hyper Court, connected basketball courts that help basketballers train using their smartphones, data-free.
There are five hyper courts so far, spread across five Barangays (districts) of Manila. Each is an inspiring visual spectacular, featuring a huge portrait of a player by Dallas artist, Arturo Torres, known for comic-book style drawings of rappers and NBA stars. The five paintings are of basketball stars, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kobe Bryant and Russell Westbrook.
Each hyper court is the base for an on-court digital platform that players can tap into with their smartphones. The platform contains a range of Nike content to help players with their game, including training drills that take inspiration from signature moves by James, Durant and Irving. The more a player uses the platform, the more it learns and makes recommendations.
“The passion for basketball in Manila is unlike any other city in Asia,” explained Nike Southeast Asia & India senior marketing director Bulbul Khera.
“We want to inspire young ballers to realise their full potential through the physical and digital aspects of their sport. Nike Hyper Court enables these ballers to train anytime without worrying about access to training drills and data costs.”
