“Wilfrid Brimo’s films are emotional experiences that capture intimate human moments be they humorous, intimate or disturbing.” [Wanda bio]
…And his latest work for BETC for Peugeot is one of his most accomplished demonstrations of that.
Brimo and Wanda were given one of Peugeot’s most famous ads to outdo.
Brimo has finessed both the striking black and white cinematography and the emotional intensity…BETC has sharpened the story. This ad is a full throttle man dream demo of both its own tagline, The road is its territory, and the Peugeot slogan, Motion and Emotion. BETC is rather good at that thing we all call cut through, yes?
Brimo won a Silver Lion at Cannes in 2003 with his first ever commercial. He was a graffiti artist who moulded himself into a graphic designer and then a photographer before he began directing. He created the Wanda’s Broadcast Design department after joining in 2001, its rise to fame underpinned by its work for MTV. Brimo’s own path then progressed from broadcast design to directing pure animation films to directing live action.
