BETC Paris’ online film for Reporters Without Borders juxtaposes the reality of war and the pomp that surrounds it.
Reporters without Borders (Reporters Sans Frontières) has released its 50th photography book, 100 Robert Capa photos for Press Freedom, promoting the freedom of information.
This special edition traces Capa’s career: from his early coverage of the Popular Front in Paris, anti-fascist struggles and the turmoil of the Second World War, the founding of Israel, the post-war world as well as its last project in Indochina. In the book, John Kerry, Patrick Modiano and Noam Chomsky provide their own points of view about Capa.
Reporters Without Borders’ agency, BETC, has created a new online film to accompany the book’s release. Its message is, “Support those that risk their lives to bring us the truth.”
That message is told by juxtaposing the reality of war and the pomp that surrounds it.
The film seeks to raise awareness among the public well as publishers, of the urgency to support the photoreporters who risk their lives in order to inform the world and provide us with independent images, often different from the ones governments want us to see.
