As news about of the audacious theft of France’s crown jewels from the Louvre Museum spread throughout the world, German family-run business, Böcker, seized the moment.
It was a Böcker ladder extending up to a balcony outside the Gallery of Apollo that facilitated the thieves’ astonishingly successful escape with €88m (AU$157m) of jewellery.
While press photos and video of the escape were being circulated globally, Böcker posted this:
The copy reads, “When you need to move fast, The Böcker Agilo transports your treasures weighing up to 400kg at 42m/min – quiet as a whisper.”
The theft occurred on Sydney night, October 19. The post appeared on Monday, October 20 and became viral almost immediately.
