Australia did not have a Grand Prix night at the 3rd Cannes ceremony.
Cyber, up 39%, was the second hottest category this year (PR up 43%). The Cyber jury, led by Susan Bonds, chief executive officer and founder, 42 Entertainment, created a shortlist of 311 from its 3660 entries, and awarded 23 gold, 48 silver and 71 bronze Lions. Iconoclast Paris, France, won the Grand Prix for Pharrell Williams – 24 Hours of Happy for Universal/Iamother.
In Cyber’s Social category, Forsman & Bodenfors Gothenburg, Sweden, won the Grand Prix for Live Test Series, for Volvo Trucks. In Cyber’s Branded Games, Branded Tech and Integrated Multiplatform Campaign, Creative Artists Agency, Los Angeles, USA, won the Grand Prix for The Scarecrow, for Chipotle Mexican Grill.
Design had 2624 entries (up 11%). The jury, led by Ije Nwokorie, global chief executive officer, Wolff Olins, culled that to a shortlist of 248 and awarded 12 gold, 21 silver and 34 bronze trophies. The Grand Prix went to Anti Bergen in Norway for its design of the Bergen International Festival Brand Campaign.
The inaugural Product Design category received 194 entries. 28 were shortlisted. 8 Product Design Lions were awarded. Donghoon Chan, executive vice president, Samsung Electronics, led the jury. The Grand Prix went to FHV BBDO Amsterdam, G-Star RAW Amsterdam & Part of a Bigger Plan, The Netherlands, for the Raw for the Ocean clothing collection from G-Star RAW.
Press received 5007 entries (down 12%) and 472 of these were shortlisted. adam&eveDDB London, UK, won the Grand Prix for its campaign for Harvey Nichols – Christmas Lunch, Gravel, Wire Wool, Sink Plug and Toothbrush. 17 gold, 27 silver and 50 bronze Lions were awarded by the jury led by Rémi Babinet, founder and creative director, BETC France.
The Radio Grand Prix went to Ogilvy & Mather Johannesburg, South Africa, for its Lucozade campaign – Teleconference, Kids Party and Enrique Concert. The jury, led by Tony Hertz, proprietor & creative director, Tony Hertz: Radio & Brand Sound, created a shortlist of 146 and went on to award 7 gold, 20 silver and 21 bronze trophies.
The winners of the Young Lions Competition received their medals at this presentation:
- Stefanie Golla and Dominique Winkel of Kolle Rebbe Germany, won the Design competition.
- Yuri Uenishi and Chihiro Yabe from Dentsu Japan won the Print competition.
- Razvan Ghilencea and Bianca Dumitrascu from TBWA\Bucharest Romania, won the Cyber competition.
Wednesday’s speakers were:

- Courtney Love, who joined Grey for its 8th annual music seminar
- Jared Leto with Benjamin Palmer.
The Young Lions sessions came from Mark Tutssel, chief creative officer worldwide, Leo Burnett and Ben Silbermann, co-founder & chief executive officer, Pinterest. Thursday is Brazil Day the Palais des Festivals, examining Brazil’s creative excellence. Sessions will come from:
