Clemenger BBDO Australia’s chief creative officer, Adrián Flores, has left the agency after less than a year in the role. It is likely that Gavin McLeod, currently CHEP Network chief creative officer, will lead creative at the new Clemenger BBDO.
The exit is another following the Omnicom merger of Clemenger BBDO, CHEP and Traffik into a single entity, when Clemenger BBDO chief executive officer, Dani Bassil departed and, CHEP Network CEO, Lee Leggett, became Clemenger BBDO’s new chief executive officer.
A Clemenger spokesperson stated, “Adrián Flores has left his role as chief creative officer of Clemenger BBDO Australia. He has made a positive contribution to the agency, in both the work created for clients and in evolving the structure of the creative team. We thank Adrián for his efforts and wish him all the best in his future career endeavours.”
Other double-ups are likely to be resolved when the unified executive leadership team is announced “in the coming weeks”.
Flores joined Clemenger in May 2024, returning to Australia after more than a decade in creative leadership roles internationally, at Publicis New York and London, FCB New York, Marcel New York, and VaynerMedia. He joins from New York-based Robot, the brand consultancy arm of The SpringHill Company, a consumer and entertainment group co-founded by basketball legend, LeBron James, and his business partner, Mav Carter. Flores spent three years as vice president creative at the marketing and media agency, connecting clients such as Google and Fortnite as well as the group’s own entertainment properties, Uninterrupted and The Shop, with customers through culture.
The Clemenger merger is part of a global restructuring of Omnicom’s creative agencies. The Omnicom Advertising Group, announced in August last year, brought the BBDO, DDB, TBWA, and Advertising Collective networks together.
The new Clemenger BBDO is an “integral member” of the wider BBDO Worldwide and Omnicom Advertising Group communities.
