Clemenger BBDO has optimised its AI capabilities by promoting four intelligent humans who use it regularly. This move recognises the brains (and other essential organs) that will lead a new chapter in the agency’s legacy of human creativity.
Long-time Clemenger creative, Ant Phillips, has been promoted from GCD to ECD; creative team, Riana McKenzie and Zoe Perrin, are promoted to senior creative roles, and Ben Bryan moves up from junior to mid-weight art director.
Ant Phillips has spent more than 20 years at Clemenger, beginning his career as an art director in 2004, before progressing up the ranks, making truly famous work along the way. Some highlights have included award winners such as Carlton Draught Slow Mo and Beer Chase, Bonds The Boys, NAB’s Mini Legends, FightMND I’m Neale Daniher and the recently released Long Way for a Beer for Great Northern Brewing Co.
Riana McKenzie and Zoe Perrin, affectionally known as RiZo, teamed up when they joined the agency in 2022. The duo’s work such as Department of Transport and Planning Hi-vis Humanity and Myer Make Your Merry Meaningful recently gained Riana the AWARD Emerging Creative of the Year honours.
Ben Bryan joined Clemenger in January 2021 as a motion designer before moving into the creative department following a top 10 AWARD School finish in 2022. Since then he has worked on high profile projects as varied as NewsJacker, Yes Makes It Possible for Yes23 and TAC’s recent driver fatigue campaign, Wake up to yourself.
Clemenger BBDO chief creative officer, Adrián Flores, stated, “Clems has long been an incubator for amazing creative leaders. These promotions recognise some truly phenomenal talents who will no doubt continue that legacy. Plus Ant.”
Clemenger BBDO executive creative director, Ant Phillips, added, “Clems obviously holds a special place in my heart, which is why I’ve been here for over 20 years. I’ve spent that time soaking up as much knowledge as I can from many of Australia’s greatest creative leaders who have passed through the building. I’m looking forward to playing a bigger role in shaping our creative future with the incredible talent at our disposal. And Adrián.”
The promotions come soon after four senior appointments to Clems’ strategy department.
