March 7, 2017: Coca-Cola has woven a bit of everything into its latest global renditions of Taste the Feeling. The campaign has been created by three agencies, Santo Buenos Aires, McCann Madrid and Ogilvy & Mather Mexico
First up is an LGBT friendly spot, Pool Boy, that tells the story of a brother and sister both trying to win the attention of the family’s pool cleaner. Ultimately, they’re both beaten to the beau by wild car (Mum).
UPDATE May 4, 2017: The spot has been running in Latin America and the US since March 2, and has racked up more than 3.9 million views. It has now launched in its third market, Australia.
Lisa Winn, marketing director, Coca-Cola South Pacific, commented, “As a brand we are constantly looking for ways to keep our work fresh, exciting and engaging to our consumers. We do this by tapping into everyday moments and telling universal stories that connect with our consumers around the world.
“We are thrilled to launch Pool Boy in Australia, which tells a great story with Coca-Cola at the centre. We are confident Pool Boy will resonate well with Australians, building on the success it has had since its launch in other markets.”
March 7, 2017: In the second commercial, Elevator, a hotel housekeeper and a rap star get stuck in a hotel elevator together. They make the best of an uncomfortable situation by dancing and drinking Coke (of course). This spot is aimed at removing the barriers between people of all social classes.
In Subway, a busker is discovered by a music executive when she begins to play the Coca-Cola theme song. This has to be the dream come true story.
Eyes Closed isn’t a story at all. It’s a musical celebration of the the moments that are better experienced with your eyes closed.
All of the ads carry the message that drinking Coca-Cola makes everyday moments more special.
