Desperately seeking wi-fi is one of those advertising propositions that states the obvious. DDB Tribal has gone all out – meaning, with five ad-films so far – to state and solve the problem for Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile) Travel & Surf, a mobile internet product for overseas travel.
The initial video introduces Jose, a Spanish entrepreneur who has created a business that rents out wi-fi sniffer dogs, animals that are trained to sniff out frequencies from the nearest router.
The campaign aims to hook people who’ve gone to ridiculous lengths to find wi-fi overseas, so the set-up video is funny – but the ancillary videos star:
