Just Call Us, the campaign for insurer, Centraal Beheer Achmea (CBA), has been running since 1987 and been run by DDB Amsterdam since 1989. Centraal Beheer Achmea has been in operation for 105 years.
The newest addition to the Just Call Us stable (59 ads and a series of live activations (read: staged accidents)…
…marks the 30 year anniversary of the campaign.
In Rapper, a newly discovered rapper, Young D, is showing off his new car, which has the newest features such as personal voice control (PVC), which activates the car’s functions.
The rapper and his crew drive about town and stop at a friend’s place to party. His latest hit starts to play on the radio. Then things go awry. The car starts to respond to the song’s lyrics, which include phrases like “start,” “close the top” and “release the brakes.”
Things didn’t only go wrong within the story. Dylan de Backer, executive creative director at DDB & Tribal Amsterdam, explained, “Maybe it was not a coincidence, but during the shoot we had our own Just call us moment. The car you see in the film actually accidentally hit other cars while shooting for the commercial. The positive side is that the unintended accident even made the actual film.”
