The cost of living is soaring globally and people are faced with paying the earth for groceries, especially sustainable products. Swiss supermarket chain, Denner, works with local farmers and producers to keep sustainable products affordable.
Traditional supermarket advertising would promote Denner’s promise with a shouty price ad. ROD Kommunikation Zurich and director, Grey Bray, opted for an ad that would be remembered – a series of fun vignettes mocking the high prices that make sustainable products treated like a luxury items or expensive treasures.
“I wanted to engage the viewer, and lead them down a familiar path, to illustrate scenes that they had no doubt seen time and time again in the cinema – but put a little twist on each scene. We simply replaced gold, treasure, or a briefcase full of cash with sustainable products to create unexpected and charming little stories,” Bray explained.
“This one was a lot of fun to produce, shot at the end of summer in Bucharest, with the amazing team at Studioset – the local cast and crew delivered wonderful production support. Casting was crucial, as it always is, and the local production in Bucharest really worked hard on finding great character actors for each role. The agency and client wanted memorable faces for each moment, and the local casting director did an exceptional job in finding those talented actors.”
