The Andy Awards had their 50th birthday last year. It’s tough being 51, so they already know a bit about bravery. The Andys are venturing out into the next half century with Wieden + Kennedy by their side. Colleen DeCourcy, partner & global chief creative officer of Wieden + Kennedy, is chair of the 2015 Andy Awards & Jury. And Wieden + Kennedy has produced the campaign that will entice you all to enter.
First, you have to be brave enough to enter. But the Andys have that covered. There are three Wieden + Kennedy videos that point out how brave you are, through the appraisals of a neurosurgeon, a firefighter and an astronaut.
If a neurosurgeon couldn’t put up with the kind of pressure you do, you must be brave, right? There are also display and social media ads that feature extremely brave ad creatives Gerry Graf, Dan Wieden, Susan Hoffman and Jeff Benjamin being commended (somewhat).
But, if you’re still not sure…and to make sure you jump onto the Andys’ website…there’s a bravery test. If you pass, you might then click, How to Enter.
“Colleen and the talented team at W+K captured the spirit of bravery by using humorous situations for creatives to be inspired. Caring about the work and approaching it with passion and bravery is what we want to see more of, and with that comes fame, glory and quite possibly an Andy for your award shelf,” Gina Grillo, president and chief executive of the International Andy Awards, commented.
The films were directed by Biscuit Filmworks director, Clay Weiner.
