The ads in The Martin Agency’s It’s What You Do campaign for Geico all follow the same pattern. An appealing story gets a sudden bizarre twist halfway through, which makes the story hilarious and underlines Geico insurance’s promise, that it ‘delivers’ (eg: saving customers 15% or more on car insurance)
Rather a lot of ads have been produced in the campaign. People know the formula. So how is The Martin Agency keeping people interested? Firstly, with the wackiest scenarios. Secondly, for very many of the commercials, with the directing brilliance of a man called McClammy. Wayne McClammy has conquered a rather unfortunate personal brand name to become one of adland USA’s favourite comedy directors.
